History
Az egyetem szenátusa 1953. február 27-i határozata alapján (megerősítette Eln. Tan. 1953. évi 7 tvr.) még ugyanezen év júliusában kettéválasztották a Bölcsészettudományi Kart: Nyelv-és Irodalomtudományi, illetve Történettudományi Karra. A Nyelv- és Irodalomtudományi Karhoz 31 szervezeti-oktatási egység került. A Kar önálló Dékáni Hivatallal és Tanulmányi Osztállyal rendelkezett, ahol az iratokat csoportszámos rendszerben iktatták. 1956. december 7-én a Kar a Történettudományi Karral egyesülve ismét Bölcsészettudományi Karrá alakult. E döntést az Elnöki Tanács 1957. évi 33. tvr. erősítette meg.
