History
Egyetemünkön 1929-ben, Lukonich Imre vezetésével alakult meg az elsősorban a szomszéd népek, az Osztrák-Magyar Monarchia utódállamainak történetével foglalkozó Kelet-Európa Története Tanszék, illetve 1934-től a Kelet-Európa Intézet. 1953-ban az Intézet két önálló szervezeti egységre bomlott: a Szovjetunió Története és a Népi Demokratikus Országok Története Tanszékre E két tanszéket 1957-ben ismét összevonták.
