History
A Történettudományi Kar az ELTE szenátusa 1953. február 27-i határozata alapján (megerősítette Eln. Tan. 1953. évi 7 tvr.) a Bölcsészettudományi Kar kettéválasztásával 1953 nyarán jött létre önálló Dékáni Hivatallal és Tanulmányi Osztállyal. 1956. december 7-én egyesült a Nyelv- és Irodalomtudományi Karral, és ettől kezdve újra Bölcsészettudományi Kar néven működött.
